Bullying, why are you still there?
Hello Coffee Lovers,
Well, its time from the serious issues again I hope you have a fresh cup of coffee because it's going to be deep. I normally do not do the conversation that is going on at the moment but the recent news has everyone chatting. A gentleman supposedly the age of 9 (which I will not mention his name) had a video going viral on what bullying has done to him emotionally and how he mentioned wanting to end his life many times. Though these few days made many people questioning whether this video was legit or not still begs the question. How is bullying only been mentioned now when bullying has been a long life struggle for many?
I also wonder why people think throwing money at a child is a way to take away what they feel and erasing their past memories of what it felt like to be bullied to the point where they saw death as their only way out. Bullying has always been a problem in this world. I have read before that 1 of 3 children is bullied. Do you know how sad that is? You know the crazy thing is that bullies have the craziest reason for bullying. For example, you're too short, your skin is not like mines, your too smart and you make me look stupid. It gets worse and worse and yet we still do nothing. We still do not know whether this video that went around is true or not, but I am happy that bullying is in people's faces now. Making them show them what it is and how kids feel this pain that they can not escape. I know it seems a little harsh but sometimes we have to feel the pain or see the pain to realize its true.
Now, so all my readers know I feel this subject is so close to my heart because I was bullied, my two boys were bullied. All in different ways but just as painful. For me, it was mostly verbal abuse stating I wasn't smart enough I wasn't good enough for anything and things of that nature. For my son, he was too proper and didn't talk ghetto-like all the other kids. Like everyone else and apparently too smart where even the teacher didn't like him. That went on from 2nd grade to 5th grade. My youngest is all too much of a people person but because he had long hair he was made fun of being called a girl and femnie, even a teacher told me to cut his hair so he wouldn't have to worry about it because he is a boy anyway.
I don't want to but I must blame most of these issues because of their parents. Most of these bullies are like this because of the feeling of inferiority in one way or another. They feel that way because most of them were not loved like they should have been and they didn't get that conversation its ok to be different it makes you special. Now let me be clear I do not say all parents I am saying some. If you are racist your child follows you, if you bully your own child they take their anger out of the defenseless child who is smaller then them. All I am saying it starts at home and we have to find a way to fix it. It's not an easy thing to do and these victims need to know as well that they have the support and they are not alone.
Years later you think by now the would "Bully" would disappear but apparently it stays and it has gotten worse. They are not just cutting themselves now they are hanging themselves or jumping off the roof. How is it that it got that bad that it lends to such an awful death?
I ask again "Bullying, why are you still there?" Bullies I hope you get the help you need and victims of bullying, I hope you have a member of your family or friends who will not get it to the point where you feel so alone.
Until the next time we speak, see you a latte.
