Luckiest girl alive: But was she?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, I was drinking a cappuccino with caramel so hot and foamy as I was watching a movie on Netflix called “Luckiest girl alive'' played by Mila Kunis, a great actress I have been watching for years . Which really resonated with what women go through alot. This movie is based on a woman who had a hard past life and had to look perfect so she is not being judged for the past. Yet she was breaking inside while smiling on the outside. Women or any victims if they have to hide what they've been through can really break a person. Especially when your reputation is not the best type. I say no matter what you asked for in your past if you say no its no. You can be with many people or have a very open past. But still a victim because you used the word “NO”. I know they are trying to make it ok with a bill in North Carolina’s the only state with a law that says once a sexual act begins, you can’t withdraw consent. I think this is sad because there are man...

Therapy : Shh we don’t say that word!

Image
Hello coffee Lovers, I hope your coffee is keeping your body and mind warm. Speaking of our minds, let's discuss our mental health. We hate talking about what we are going through on mental status. In one of my other blogs I discuss how therapists and how they take their work hom. This one is about the patients and the lack of patients because of their cultures. When it comes to therapy in cultures the influence can gain and maintain cultural competence. Which means depending on one’s culture talking to anyone outside of their family or their relationship if frowned upon. Which I will admit in my head I thought going to a therapist was unnecessary.or made me feel like there was something wrong with me. I didn’t want others to look at me like I was broken. It took me a longtime to realize I do need someone to talk to who was not a friend or a family one who will eb mutual and will not judge me for what was in my heart and mind. There are 5 reasons why people don'...

Do you feel safe riding the trains in NYC ?

Image
Hello coffee Lovers, I have been reading up and realizing some things we should lall discuss even if we don’t live in NYC but we might have friends or relatives over there. According to https://www.governor.ny.gov/ Mayor Adams Announce Major Actions to Keep Subways Safe and Address Transit Crime, Building on Ongoing State and City Collaboration. Now how many times have we heard from people who swore that they will keep the people safe? I feel as though it's getting worse out there. The violence is so bad that I fear for my husband. He works for the MTa and everyday he goes to work i stay up worrying about how things can go wrong. It has been said that Mayor Adam is putting more officers in the train stations but they will be unarmed. My question is how will that help? These people who are being violent are attacking officers who have weapons. Imagine those without? As i was speaking to my husband i realized that he and other mta staff members or those who actually ride t...

Hurricane Ian the aftermath

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Today thinking about what the world went through last week with Hurricane Ian it is hard to take in. Especially for those who actually were in places like Puerto Rico and North Carolina and Cuba and florida. There are at least billions of damage and many deaths. It killed over 100 people and not even talking about how many injuries. Many people are still trying to find their loved one and the search continues till this day. To know that you gave everything you had into your homes, to know you lost I can guess very important papers, saddens me and scares me from moving to these places. I couldn’t even imagine what it takes t o get back to normal and how long. To give up and let go of all you accpolihed to have a roof over your head be gone. It just blows my mind. This storm was as bad or more than sandy and i remember that one because it is Puerto rico as well and i was in NYC and i was across the street from a park a that knocked down serval trees. ...

New Dahmer show on Netflix

Image
Dear coffee lovers, It's been awhile since i spoke about something on netflix but i felt the need to talk about this. I am pretty sure many people know about Dahmer and are not surprised with what you are seeing right now. Today I have a normal coffee just a bit strong and some french vanilla cream. It really does the coffee justice when you are not wanting to put too much sugar. I don’t even use sugar when I use this cream. Let’s get back to Dahmer as I see it he is a serial killer who not only puts the people he kills in acid but holds them before they die. He also somehow eats their heart.he basically only killed men/boys. This is a true story brung to life and who else better to do this character than Evan Peters. He is a great actor that did stuff like: X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: Days of Future Past, American Horror Story, Kick-Ass. His acting towards American Horror Story was why I knew he could do well in this Dahmer Show. I watched an interview he did and I m...

Victims, do they ever get over their trauma?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Today I will need to drink something a bit stronger when it comes to this conversation. I am thinking of an espresso martini.yes that's what i said. This conversation is about victims and how they get over their trauma. People in this world have gone through trauma one way or another. Over time you would think one would get over the trauma they went through. But in reality it's just buried somewhere in your subconscious. Some would say depending how deep or extreme the trauma is you can get past it. I think that they are wrong because minor things can still stay stuck in ones heard. Because they remember what made it traumatizing at that time. Every time you hear a word or see an area and there is a repeat of certain things you really do not get past it . it comes crashing back at you. People do get help finding a way to live with it or forgive what happens and move on but, I can tell you that it's not something easy to get over. For th...

Men and their emotions

Image
Hello coffee lovers, The conversation we are about to have is not going against men at all . For many years men were told not to show the feelings because it was a sign of weakness. That's why I can only assume that males after a certain century seem tougher and are most likely not to show their emotions. Men who express their emotions, for example sadness or even grief, are often seen as weak. Because of that, many men neglect to show their emotions at all because they're afraid of the repercussions.either being made fun of or yelled at for showing their sensitive side. However, suppressing emotions and feelings can be incredibly detrimental to a man's mental health and may be carried over to their son’s life as well. I spoke to 10 men about their emotions in their younger years. I asked them if they were able to show their emotions as a youngling. Believe It or not only 2 were able to show their emotions and others had to suppress what they were feeling. Many were...

Child abuse (The children who slip through the system)

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Today you will need something strong for the conversation because I almost got myself an espresso. This conversation will make you think and make you wonder why? This is about a lawsuit alleging CYFD (Youth, and Families Department ) cover up of a 4-year-old's death of James Dunklee. Apparently there was a 4 year old boy who was taken to the ER for his arm. His mother said he fell or some excuse like that. I am not totally sure of the details but that's when many staff members realized the bruises this boy had. “The only worker that had ever investigated the home where he was living with Zerrick and Pamela, was begging her bosses to do the right thing and take him into custody and they said no. They said calm down. That’s what they told her,” said Sara Crecca, attorney. This was something that happened in 2019. There were pictures that showed they saw scars and how he was being abused but yet still sent him with his family. IN the video on YOUTUBE Ja...

Why do we Body-Shame?

Image
Hello Coffee Lovers, Now while thinking about having this conversation I am here drinking Caramel Macchiato. That's my sweet stuff or the day. I am talking about this because it's summertime and many people worry about their body and how they get portrayed in other eyes. This conversation many people don't have because they are worried about if they are feeling like they are being body shamed or they are doing it. It's a hard thing for people who deal with body shaming. We don't know what this person may or not be going through. I myself have issues with my body but my issues are mentally. Meaning i am not slim so i feel not as beautiful as others do. Maybe ist because from the time I was born skinny was the thing to be. Despite years later it can still take hold of me. I do take time to say I am beautiful enough for me. Now, other people may have issues that we don't know about like if they are skinny and not on purpose we may be missing a story or tw...

Try and stay humble

Image
>Hello coffee lovers, While I was sipping on this new organic coffee called Chameleon Organic from Guatemala, I realized a lot of things lately and I wanted to talk about it with you guys. I am all for anyone succeeding in life and going as far as the stars take them but when you are in the stars you forget the little people who supported you and got you to where you are today. I have known people for a long time now and some of them act like we have never met. If I was just a small fish in a big pond because they changed their lifestyle. I for one have changed my lifestyle for the better and might be a bit busy but i can tell you i remember all of my friends. I try to reach out to them from time to time and ask them how they are doing. Even if I can not meet them whenever I want, it is good to keep up with those who keep the same lifestyle. Maybe some friends were there when you were in a dark time and you made these friends but at least let them know that you are better no...

Do you take work home with you?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Lately, I've been watching a Netflix show called “Couples Therapy” . It was very interesting. It was about different couples and normal things that people go through but somehow have a big impact on them as a couple. Even though I felt bad for these couples, it was great they talked about what they were feeling. While looking at this I noticed that it did affect the therapist as well. Because if you have to think about it you have to remain neutral .They have to listen to both stories, both sides of what they are both feeling and work on it from there. We have to question the fact being that they see so many couples and hear so many sides. What do you think their mental status is? Do they bring their couple issues with them at home or are they able to shut that down by the time they get home? I know that psychologists are at risk for occupational stress because of such problems they deal with at work. What I did like about this show is that the “couple the...

HOW CAN OUR KIDS STAY SAFE AT SCHOOL?

Image
Hello Coffee lovers, I hope you have something strong to drink because lately it's been really hard seeing the news. That's why I don't want to talk about what happened but more like what steps we can take to prevent things like this and make our children feel safe as well as parents. Where are some things that may help, not sure it will 100% but you never know. This list is for what the adults can do to help the children be safe in such a moment, something like what happened to those poor children who lost their lives. I feel not only parents but the staff should have rules. Will some do have rules on if there is such a moment like what happens to those poor souls. What can staff do to make sure the kids are safe in a crisis. Lockdown: Used when there is a perceived danger inside the building. A lockdown includes securing each occupied room by locking the door(s) and directing people to move away from windows and doors. Hallways are cleared of students and sc...

Parenting, everyone's parenting skills are different.

Image
Hello COFFEE LOVERS, TODAY ON THIS CONVERSATION I WOULD NEED A DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO NOT ONLY BECAUSE I AM TIRED BUT PARENTING AND HOW IT IS A VERY DIFFICULT CONVERSATION TO HAVE. NOT MANY PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEIR PARENTING SKILLS. I MUST ADMIT I AM ONE OF THEM. I HAVE A HARD TIME LISTENING TO PEOPLE SAYING WHAT I SHOULD OR NOT SHOULD DO WITH MY CHILD.YET I KNOW MOST OF THE TIME I KNOW IT JUST TO MAKE MY LIFE EASIER. 4 PARENTING STYLES 1) PERMISSIVE: CHILD-DRIVEN RARELY GIVES OR ENFORCES OVERINDULGED CHILD TO AVOID CONFLICT 2) AUTHORITATIVE SOLVES PROBLEMS TOGETHER WITH CHILD SETS CLEAR RULES AND EXPECTATIONS OPENS COMMUNICATION AND SHOWS CONSEQUENCES 3) NEGLECTFUL UNINVOLVED OR ABSENT PROVIDES LITTLE NURTURANCE OR GUIDANCE INDIFFERENT TO A CHILD'S SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIOR NEEDS 4) AUTHORITARIAN PARENT-DRIVEN SETS STRICT RULES AND PUNISHMENT ONE-WAY COMMUNICATION,WITH STYLE CONSIDERATION OR CHILD'S SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL NEEDS WHILE DOIN...

Can a broken relationship be fixed again?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Ist getting hotter and you think relationships will be getting better, because of the trip and great weather. But this is the time we get most break ups. I know this sounds crazy but during the summer time is what they now call “ thot summer” Hot Girl Summer basically. Where it's time to get out of whatever relationship they had during the cold season to enjoy and party time for summer. Is this the only reason people break up ,nope. Some people have issues they cannot seem to fix or in other words they are unsure of the problem they have at all. Some people want to fix their relationship no matter how bad it gets because they have love for eachother but the question is can a broken relationship be fixed again? If it's a trust issue it may never be healed but it can be bearable depending on how many times the trust has been broken. If it's been broken since the get go it's harder to get over. The harder it is in the beginning the harder you...

Coping with your children going to college

Image
Good morning coffee lovers, I know you have a lot going on preparing your children for the prom and so on but today i want you to think about what the children are feeling or coping with the fact that they are going off to college for the first time ever.It time to bring out something like Salted Caramel Signature Latte because yet some of this conversation is going to be salty it will have some sweetness in the end. Dealing with your teenager going away is a big deal especially when being the actual teeneger. There are so many moves to make when thinking about college. LIke for example does your child know what field they want to go into. Does the grades thehave will be able to make a difference to get into the college or field they need to get into. All of these things can make a teenager and a parent nervous. Yet they are in the beginning of their young adult life they are still children and get scared as so. Some children work harder because they really want to make...

Letting go of the past to have a better future

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Over the years i have noticed that many people use their past for the present problems. Which let me start by saying it can be true but the question is “Can We do anything about it?” As I am here drinking my medium roast I hope you're reading this drinking something just as smooth. I want to say there are maybe 80% of us humans, maybe more that had an awful past. Whether it be physical abuse or emotional abuse. Only a small percentage is lucky to have a drama-free past. I am having this conversation because I noticed that letting go of the past is hard, and want to find out their actual rules that can help you get over it. Or do we keep it to remind us if remembering your past keeps your future going. The way someone thinks ..acts..behaves..is most likely because of their past. Many can get over the past but those that can't, their behavior is hard to fix or change for that matter. They can’t change the way they think and/or the way they behave even if t...

Can paranoia (The voice) make or break you?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, The spring is here and it is time for all new conversations that make you think even more than normal. By now you must be drinking cold brew coffees or cold lattes to get you going. For this Conversation will need something just as strong. When you start to succeed at things or goals in life there is always a hint of a voice that is telling you to watch your back or a voice is saying stay humble because if not you will lose all you worked hard for. Life gives you so many battles sto try to beat. Somany scales of life that you start to wonder if it is worth getting what you wanted or having your dream come true. The sad thing is that most of the time your worst enemy is yourself. What I mean by that is because the fight is too hard or the picture is not clear you start to form your own thoughts sof why something is not happening as fast as you wish or the way you planned it to go. I myself beetle with my own voices and it's a constant fight. My voic...

Bride walked down the aisle by a man who received her father’s donated heart.

Image
Hello coffee lovers, Today's conversation should make you want to get a nice sweet coffee because of the sweetness of this story I have read. It was so cute and emotional for me,because I am an emotional person. I thought you guys can read and know about it too. So according to CNN and NYtimes. There was a father who was a organ donor, that was murdered 10 years ago. Despite what happened, his heart was still available to donate. Now it is beating in the chest of Arthur Thomas who has walked the bride, Jeni Stepien the father who donated his heart’s daughter. He walked her down the aisle and gave her away. In the decade since Thomas received Stepien's heart, the two families had kept in touch through letters, gifts and calls. People ask me why I am a donner and this is why because if i leave this world i want to be able to give something of me to a person who is missing that one thing to feel whole. I know many people will not agree to it. I just feel I have things I ca...

What Is The Strangest Dream You Have Ever Had?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, I am hoping the weather has been a bit more exciting then it has been. Today I want to talk about something interesting that we all have in common. No not coffee but it can be if you want it to be. It is about dreams and not just any dream like the strangest dream you can have. I had a few myself. My dreams consist of two strange ones . One will be that I am sleeping on a plane with a mattress and just go to turn and fall out of the plane while consciously falling, never actually hitting the floor. I guess I should really be happy I don't ever reach the ground but can i call that interesting or strange? My other one is i have a completely different family and yet my hubby is still my hubby but my kids are two completely different never met them don’t know how these faces are in my dream. I am confused everytime i wake up from this dream. I try my best to think about what it means. According to https://www.healthline.com/ they wrote about certain dre...

‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill

Image
Hello Coffee lovers, I think it’s time for a red eye coffee from Starbucks. For those who do not know what a the “Red Eye” from the Starbucks Secret Menu is a regular coffee (iced or hot) with ONE shot of Espresso added. I may be late hearing this news and it shocked me more then I thought it would. A Florida House committee on Thursday passed a bill seeking to ban discussions of sexuality and gender identity in school classrooms, which LGBTQ+ advocates say will effectively “erase” LGBTQ+ history, culture, and students. According to thehill.com as for the bill, parents may take legal action against their child’s school district and be awarded damages if they believe any of its policies infringe on their “fundamental right to make decisions regarding the upbringing and control of their children.” This is basically stating that if the word gay or anything within that school is heard they want the teachers to out their children or want children to out other children to the teacher. I...

Can you be an Introvert and still like being around people?

Image
Hello Coffee lovers, This weather has been a bit crazy huh guys. I bet its hard to even go out and get yourself a cup of coffee. I bet many of you are uber eating it or door dashing your drinks. I bet many of the introverts’ love this because they rather not have to deal with people. At least my sons prefer it that way. Talking about introverts for those who do not know what that is let me explain: What is an introverted person like? An introvert is a person with qualities of a personality type known as introversion, which means that they feel more comfortable focusing on their inner thoughts and ideas, rather than what's happening externally. They enjoy spending time with just one or two people, max. And an Extrovert is: Extroverts are typically described as being outgoing, fun-loving, friendly, and talkative. In contrast, introverts are characterized as being reserved, withdrawn, and introspective with small social circles. As I been reading some can be both. Can you be b...

Is your child Emotional Eating?

Image
Hello coffee lovers, How was everyone’s New Years? I know the last year was opening eyes about couples and relationships. This year I want to focus more of what we see or do not see about our children. So, the next few weeks I will be focusing on our children and what we can do to make their loves better, even if it’s just a little bit. I know that when the pandemic hit our children’s habits of going out or even exercising went out the window. My son went from talking a little bit to not talking at all. He changed his whole dream to be a math teacher to being a game designer. I know that yet we been through allot as parents, like loosing jobs or losing loved ones that we were too busy in hour own feelings that we forgot to see how our children are doing. I am not saying all parents but some parent I am one tend to forget they feel things just as much as we are, but they react differently then us. Today we are talking about teenagers or children in general overeating to deal with t...
