Child abuse (The children who slip through the system)

Hello coffee lovers, Today you will need something strong for the conversation because I almost got myself an espresso. This conversation will make you think and make you wonder why? This is about a lawsuit alleging CYFD (Youth, and Families Department ) cover up of a 4-year-old's death of James Dunklee. Apparently there was a 4 year old boy who was taken to the ER for his arm. His mother said he fell or some excuse like that. I am not totally sure of the details but that's when many staff members realized the bruises this boy had. “The only worker that had ever investigated the home where he was living with Zerrick and Pamela, was begging her bosses to do the right thing and take him into custody and they said no. They said calm down. That’s what they told her,” said Sara Crecca, attorney. This was something that happened in 2019. There were pictures that showed they saw scars and how he was being abused but yet still sent him with his family. IN the video on YOUTUBE James (the victim) told caseworkers his mother’s boyfriend at the time hit him the CYFD did send him to stay with his aunt for a while but sent back to live with his mom and her boyfriend. There was a report that K Cruz (the mother) ignored multiple calls from them as they tried to do a home visit.Less than two months later, James was found dead at Marquez’s home. Marquez told police that James went to the restroom, said he didn’t feel good, and hit his head on the wall. Marquez ( the boyfriend)had beaten James to death. There was a grandfather and attorneys that blamed CYFD for not doing more to save 4-year-old James Dunklee. Now I know this is an old story but it is just a small example of how these kids slip through the cracks of the systems. We are supposed to be able to keep these children safe. How can we talk about abortion and can’t keep the ones on the earth now safe?
According to https://www.cbsnews.com/news/child-abuse- “Most of the 786 children whose cases were compiled by the AP were under the age of 4. They lost their lives even as authorities were investigating their families or providing some form of protective services because of previous instances of neglect, violence or other troubles in the home.” How can we open the system’s eyes to help the children who really need the help? How do you prove child abuse? To prove child abuse you need to have a knowledge of how it is defined in your home state or the state that has jurisdiction over your child. There are four types of child abuse: 1. Emotional Abuse: This is the most common and most used abuse when it comes to parents. The parents talk down to the children over and over again. They tell the kids how they will never make it in the world or if they are not good enough at anything. The parents' verbal assaults can last for days and the child will have it in their mind for the rest of their lives and it can affect them as an adult. 2. Neglect: Neglect refers to a range of conditions in which a parent or caregiver fails to adequately provide for a child’s needs. Such as feeding them, bathing them and keeping them in an unfit environment. I have seen news where children died of hunger and there is so much neglect. 3. Physical Abuse: In this case these children are getting hit and beaten mostly everyday.if their parents are smart enough they hit the children where it is not visible to anyone else. But if you have seen abused kids before you can tell with the way they behave. But Physical abuse is the easiest form of abuse to prove in Family Court. 4. Sexual Abuse: This situation in which an adult or another child engages in a sexual act with a minor or exposes the minor to unsuitable sexual material or behavior is considered abusive.Sometimes its harder to realize because if you are not around them much they seem like just a close family but behind close doors are a different story. There are so many children both girls and boys that get abused one way or another and the fact that this story, this child slipped through the cracks despite all the warning signs,is a scary thought. If you see signs of abuse let someone know. Don’t just sit there and say “I knew that child once. Its so sad. If you see something, say something. And hopefully the system will get annoyed enough to check out these situations more. You'll need to know the child's name and the address if you can. #childabuse #bloggers #coffeelovers #CYFD #JamesDunklee #YOUTUBE #conversations
