New Amsterdam
Hello coffee lovers,
I hope you had a double epresso today or something strong. This conversation is goning to make you want to binge on a show and maybe change your life a bit. Yes i am talking aboutthe show "New Amsterdam" which is a great show with not enough recognition. To me it's a diamond in the rough.
The show is about a doctor who tries to change the world one story at a time. The stories given in this show are something special and you have to take these stories for what they really are.The truth is a lot of awareness.
Dr Goodwin hustles and he smiles while having his own way to help those who need to be helped. New Amsterdam, played by the main character, premiered in September 2018, on NBC now playing on Netflix about a Dr. Max Goodwin who was played by Ryan Eggold. The cast have Likable characters and are different from the normal shows you see.
He works on every episode trying to make the world or at least the hospital better in little ways. Yet it seems big to other people but it really is small. You just have to adjust your lives, which is hard to do apparently because we are spoiled and trained to think this is the way. Meaning recycling is getting better but we still struggle because it takes time. Racism is still alive and kicking, especially with the recent years that just passed. There are so many ways to learn from this show. I think that's why it doesn't get enough recognition because it shows the world like it really is inside and outside the hospital.
According to https://nypost.com/ This show was based on a real life doctor named Dr. Eric Manheimer. Who trained at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn. Also well known for taking time to stitch up the arms of looters whose skin had been slashed while stealing TV sets through the broken glass of shattered storefronts in the infamous 1977 blackout. Dr. Eric Manheimer was eleven years into his job, when he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and underwent treatment, turning over his duties to the hospital’s associate director.
I think what got my attention is that like everyone else,we are used to hearing promises of change for the better. The character Dr. Max Goodwin spent every day trying to change the world in his little way. When he makes promises he does everything in his power to keep it. Even when he went through his own hard times, he still managed to think about his patients before his own drama.
The world needs more people like him who want to make the world better who want to change what people think can’t be changed. Keep fighting the good fight by doing little things that can make a big difference. I would recommend you take time out to even watch two episodes and tell me you don’t want to see the next. I will admit I have two favorite people in the show: Dr. Max Goodwin who was played by Ryan Eggold and Dr. Iggy Frome who was played by Tyler Labine. I liked iggy because he helped people more than he realized, even though he wasn’t perfect himself. I do wish if i could pick a good Dr Goodwin would be on my list.
For those who are interested there are 4 seasons and it is streaming on Netflix. Tell me what you think about it. If you saw what your opinion was and did it change when you were done watching it.
Until next conversation talk to you Lattee.
